Most of my work is concerned with using molecular phylogenies to address questions that relate to the biogeography of organisms, and processes of speciation and radiation. As graduate student and post-doc at the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin (Glaubrecht lab), I studied pachychilid freshwater snails. Pachychilidae have a world-wide tropical distribution and amongst others we wanted to elucidate whether this pattern is better explained by Gondwanan vicariance or long-distance dispersal. Besides, I also studied frogs, lizards, and other groups of molluscs. Currently, I am based at the Australian Museum, where I study a diverse radiation of largely undescribed snail species in the Kimberley, north-western Australia.
